Janne Sirviö Appointed as CEO of Aura Flow

Aura Flow Oy, specializing in the repair and construction of passenger and cruise ships, has appointed Janne Sirviö as its new CEO. Sirviö brings with him extensive and diverse experience in the shipbuilding industry. Aura Flow is part of the Aura Rakennus Group.

Janne Sirviö, who will assume the role of CEO of Aura Flow in early 2024, has worked throughout his career in companies specializing in the construction and repair of passenger ships. He has gained leadership experience both domestically and in the United States, where Sirviö worked for several years in the early 2000s in the repair and construction of cruise ships. Sirviö transitions to Aura Flow from his position as the CEO of Millog Marine & Power.

"I was excited about the opportunity when approached about this position. The timing for a return to the fascinating world of repair construction is just right, and my passion for the industry made the decision easier. Aura Flow's operational concept and the people involved convinced me from the beginning. I see a lot of synergy in what Aura Rakennus represents and how we can expand our expertise in cruise ship repair, for example, in the renovation of cabin areas," Sirviö explains.

"Mikko Kilpi, the CEO of Aura Rakennus Group, expresses full confidence that under Janne Sirviö's leadership, Aura Flow's operations will gain momentum. Kilpi states, 'Janne's strong expertise and extensive experience, as well as his industry networks, are a winning combination.'"

Targeting Export Markets

The timing for launching new operations is favorable. Shipping companies have largely recovered from the challenges of the COVID-19 era, and there is a growing demand for services offered by companies like Aura Flow, focusing on the repair and construction of passenger and cruise ships. Aura Flow's broad supplier network and customer understanding are a definite competitive advantage.

"We aim for international export markets, especially in the United States. Our goal is to leverage Finnish maritime industry expertise and quality, which is highly regarded worldwide. We want to take the domestic industry network to larger markets and act as a channel for internationalization, also for smaller businesses in the Varsinais-Suomi region," says Sirviö.

Aura Rakennus Group's financial support and the group's internal, cross-sector operating model provide a strong foundation for the plan.
